Share you secrets and tips on what worked to quiet down an fussy infant. I use to take car rides with my daughter and let her fall asleep. Other times we would go to the airport and watch the planes taking off and coming in, something about it made her relax and eventually fall asleep. What have you tried that has worked or didn't work?

Singing to my son never worked. I bought this thing called Ocean Wonders that hangs from the side of his crib and has lights and soothing music and bubbles and that always calmed him til he fell asleep. Car rides always worked! Running the vacuum and patting him like I was burping him (even if he'd already burped) also made him calm.

Yes, I have a ten month old and when he is sleepy I sing to him. He likes itsy bitsy spider and when I sing it to him he goes right to sleep.

Yes...seemed to, although it was a little while back now!
I think it was probably the rocking and the same tones of singing but I had several that the boys loved.
I also found with smaller babies lying face down along the length of my arms worked really well too.
I did resort to singing and bathing one particularly bad night...lol
