Any good inspirational and motivational book will fades away or will be out of the trend. But the value and lessons that could be learned from it will really depend on how serious the reader had taken the book's content. Purpose Driven Life is a great book which teaches many values not only in the spiritual side but as a whole being. I really enjoyed the 40 days reading program that it have. About the effectiveness, just what I have said earlier it all depends on how you will take it.

I have not read all of this book, but I think it's a tool to help people understand the bible. It also reminds me of religion though too, because it was written by a human, not God, so it comes from someone's interpretations of the bible. It's a very positive book, I'm not a avid reader of books but like to have something positive to refer to now and then.

Sometimes it's hard to find answers in the Bible because it is very long, and this book can sum up almost all answers you need to understand and know your purpose. It is mainly based on the Bible (Most of its passages are derived from the Bible), so don't worry.

Hello zerlake!(",)
I love that book!(",) Purpose Driven Life taught me so many great lessons about life and living. Although, I was not able to really read it by 40 days but, I did finish it. The book showed me that there is importance in my existence as GOD revealed it. It is bible-based and that makes it effective. The book did showed certain truths that we sometimes ignored. Through this book I learned that God planned my existence and I live because of Him. Now I understand why I have to continue living by God's grace only. I'm really thankful that I was able to read this book. It has been a blessing!(",) As for its effectivity, it only depends on the person if he/she will follow it religiously. As long as you know that you are on the right track with the Lord then everuthing will be alright.(",)
Great day to you and GOd bless you always!(",)

I just picked this book up at a used book store the other day and just started to read it. I like books like this that make me think, and give me insight on Biblical issues.
Since I just started reading it, I can't answer your question, but I know that the only book that has all the answers for me is the Bible.
But I don't see anything wrong with reading something like this, I think it can be helpful for some people.

I find this book very reflective. It taught me many things. I can say the effectiveness of this will matter if you have a Bible on your side.

I highly recommend this great book next to the Bible as amust to live by. I have read and made it as a special gift to my treasured friends and they responded positively with great appreciation. Whatever is your religion today, especially if you are a Muslim, you need a copy of it to undestand what really matters in this life.

I think that this book can be helpful if you follow through with it. It is a book that if you read it and make no effort at any of the changes that are recommended then it will not do anything for you. If you have the willpower to want to make constructive change then this book can help you do that. It is based on Biblical principles so if you are not Christian it might be a little hard to swallow as well.

I already responded, but I just remembered another book to help with one's spiritual walk. It's called "God is not your problem" by Billy Joe Daugherty and recommended by Joyce Meyer. I've read some of it and it is a lot like "Purpose Driven Life", very positive read. It focuses on the difference between God and satan.

i think i was attracted by the hype created by this book so i got myself a copy. problem is, i still haven't finished it and i really doubt if i ever would. i bought my copy 3 years ago and i'm not yet halfway through. some of the friends that i have talked with regarding this book said that it has not changed their life a bit. probably to some, the book has changed their lives, but i don't think its for me:P

I think it depends on how serious you are in making purpose driven life a part of your life... The book won't do any wonders if you do not reflect on the message of the book

I have read the book but didn't finish all the chapters. yes it helped me organize my life and find meaning to my living in this world. It makes me realize the importance of life and understand what is really important in living. It talks about ultimate goal in life and at least if you know that you will know how to live your life. Asking on whether it's effective or not,I'd say that it depends on how open the person is. The person must be open to the ideas and teaching and writings of the book.
