Linux Server and 2000 client Connectivity

Hello friend i have one problem i wanna use linux server as file server and windows 2000 as client but i don't how configure server so help me wating for reply

sorry, i'm not agree w/ u linux i just as simple as windows. but most people already AFRAID before doing some deep test. the question is quite newbie and simple. all we need to is install samba server on the linux box. do some configs.. and done. that's all. fyi, the GUI (graphical user interface) in linux is much more better compared to windows. plz do some try before make some judgment. viva linux !!!

For you to be able to share files and folders between windows and linux boxes, you will need to configure samba in your linux box. Since there are a number of linux distro, check out a 'samba howto' specifically for the linux distro you are using . This will guide you with the proper syntax to use. Although there are distro with gui which you can also use to set things up.

first of all, have you installed any linux in your server? if not, then, what distro you would like to install in your server. I would recommend RedHat or SuSE since both of them have lots of support in the forums.
