What happened to my "8" Star Rating..??

Don't let the stars bother you. Mylot saids someone can't make you ratings drop by stalking your posts and giving you bad ratings, but there is no other exsplanation for it. Unless all of your posts here lately have been REALLY bad and upsetting to many posters, then you have a stalker. I went from a 98 to a 91 in one day. Why? I was in a debate with a real jerk. Now I don't even look at my star, I can care less and many posters on her feel the same way. The stars really aren't fair or accurate by no means, so don't put too much thought into them and know your are not the only one, nor will you be the last. The star drops hits everyone at one time or another. They don't reflect on your pay, so don't worry.

I had that experience recently and when I voice it out here it was reinstated after a day. I had an 8 star and went down to 7 star and now am back with 8 star. I am sure it will be back in a short while since you have announce it here like I did.

I think people on MyLot can be quite cruel with their ratings. Because it is so easy to rate people, if someone disagrees with a statement you make they are more likely to rate you negatively that say, someone who agreed with you rating you positively. I know we are only supposed to rate based on answer, but unfortunately for a lot of us (especially the highly opinionated) it looks like MyLot won't work that way. Hope I helped! x

hey buddy dont be upset. have u ever pointed ur mouse on these stars. if u have a seven star then u get 70 to 80 out of 100 from the discussion u respond for ur friends. these marking are done by ur friends. u can also see + and - symbol beside my responce. i think till know u may have understood the matter. u cant rate ur self u can rate ur friends to others. this way we judge someonce responce. my advice would be pls try to reply to ur friends as far as possible not to the unknown as they may not like ur interfierence to there discussion and can rate u negitive. one more advice would be pls but + to every friend who replies to u. one more thing pls do not start too many discussion a day as some of us may not like it. and do not forget to reply to ur friends who reply to u. try to keep good relationship with ur friends u will see that ur rating grows. and do not be harsh on repling and not reply shot it should be at least 4 lines or else mylot will delete it. i wanted to right more but u may not like it and can rate me - who knows.

It has happened to me, too. And I was disappointed as much as you but what can I do? Rating is something cruel in myLot. However, I am trying to be as honest as possible in my responses no matter that some people may not like me and may rate me in a bad way. I prefer to say what I think and not what I think that others want me to say. Am I right?

your rating/reputation decreased because any mylotter decreased it, maybe he didn't find post nice, but i think you are good so i am adding your rating/reputation

it does happen. sometimes is because of the system rules, you might get ur reputation reduced if you fail them .

Well I just gave you a + I went down to an 8 recently from a 9. It is back up again to 9 but I cant seem to get to 10. I don't know. I stopped worrying about it, LOL!

Awww sweety,,dont fret..i was sooo sad when i had a 9 for a month..and it was all because some people..5 to be exact..didnt agree with what i said..and thats just wrong!! I think the star rating is stupid and just more of a headache than anything..its al about the people that rate you and the only time people should be given a neg is when they spam,1-3 words sentences,,and just rude people..soo..just ignore it..and just keep doin what ur doin:)

Earlier when I saw these discussions about stars falling I didn't bother much. But just now I noticed that my star has gone from Yellow to White or 8 to 7. My popularity was 84 per cent but now it reads 74 per cent. I think 'mylot' would have done this in order to give us a challenge to score again. So we'll do it. No body's going to jail, so why worry.

You have a choice as I see it. You either become a boreing 'yes' man and agree with everybody here and post nothing controversial and get your pretty red star... or you call a spade a spade and state your belief in an honest way without being rude and get .[-]. by some nignog who cannot accept any view other than there own. Needless to say I follow the latter course and will never be a 10 and do you know what? I am not overcome with remorse at the prospect! haha

I don't know...this is happening to everyone. I went from a 10 to a 9 to an 8 to a 9 to an 8 again. And I have been at an 8 for a few days, and everytime I log on I hope I am back at a 9, but it seems to not happen. I think this is happening to a lot of people, and I don't know why. Try not to put anyone down in your responses...not saying that you are, but this is the only reason I can think of for this. Good luck on getting your star back up!

You must have made someone mad somewhere, which is stupid since the - button should be reserved for stupid people that respond with "no" or something short like that, or someone that doesn't even stick to the topic. I've had it happen when I posted something rather controversial, it slowly climbed up, looks like yours has too ;)

i am a new here and i dont know what is it.I really dont know how to rate for people ,what i know is to anwer only some question and it depedns for them if what they will put.

Don't worry abou the fall of the star. It will climb again. I got a 5 star at first then it climbed to 7 and then to 8 then again it fall to 7. But after two or three days I got a star of 9th rank and afterwards to 10. I thought it will stay but the next day itself it dropped to 9 again. The next day it again climbed to 10. However my score fall from 96 to 95. My policy is to keep postings as usual, as to the star it is the responsibility of others. I can only watch it. Thank you for bringing the subject to discussion.

My rating too has dropped and honestly after the next payout I'm considering leaving.

Why do you even care about it? Why bother witch such thing? cmon

I think all of us should try to write what they feel and don'T think so much about stars. We are not in school anymore to care so much about marks. This is life, we make friends or enemies.

I am new so I don't know why your rating fell back. But I will rate you on this posting. Hope you get back up there soon.

Till today, I have yet to know how the star being rating. But, I have been giving positive rating to the discussion. I find majority ot the discussion out there are pretty interesting. Don't be dishearted; you are doing great. Keep it up.
