linux is a great OS. If you are still starting out in using the OS, you may want to check some howto's for newbies, this will help. Although there is a gui, which is a lot easier to navigate, you will need to use the command line too.

Yes, of course.
Linux is a great operating system.
I currently use Linux Mandriva 2007.1 Spring Edition and I'm very happy of it.
I started steadily using Linux since 2 years and my habits are very different in comparison with windows.
Linux offers a lot of advantages:
it is free and virus free, it is faster and more stable than windows, it easy to use and it has a lot of software ready to use with the distributions. In addiction, Linux file system doesn't suffer of fragmentation of files.
My suggestion is to start using Linux immediately.

Linux is okay, it's free. If you'd like to try, I've heard of a recently released (just this April) distribution which is Ubuntu 7.04. It's more secure than Windows I guess since virus makers design viruses to run in Windows. Also, it is more stable and hackers find Linux users harder to find except when they really want to target you.

Linux is really a great operating system with all the fun like games and power of the a office with open office but I don't know which one you want to download maybe you don't know there is a lot I think Ubuntu is a good linux distribution for beginners, remember that you will need to read a lot because the installation is not so easy I mean the extra software.
I think You will not have problems in the Linux installation if you have installed windows before you will find that it is pretty similar, however take care and read a lot before or you could delete all your information for mistake, and Linux come with Mozilla Firefox so you will not get all that spyware there on internet, and you will not get so many viruses, very few viruses attack Linux, I think it is because is more easy make a virus for windows.
