If you could take 10 things to a desert island...

...what would you take?
Here is the scenario. You are going to a desert island for the rest of your life, and you are allowed to take 10 items with you. Adequate food and drink is provided, but nothing else. What would you take with you? People aren't allowed.

Let's see,
1. my cat
2. a bunch of matches (I consider this as one item)
3. a bunch of books since I like to read. (Here again I consider this as one item.)
4. pots and pans to cook with
5. My CD player since I absolutely love music.
6. My CD's and a lot of them
7. Pictures of my loved ones
8. The machine that you can do morse code on since that way I could keep in contact with people.
9. Flares so that if a ship passed by I could signal them.
10. A mattress to sleep on.
