Do you get seasonal affected disorder?

Hey guys. I am just posting to see if anyone else is in the same situation as me, really! It is Summertime here now, and I am not feeling in the slightest bit depressed. However, during the winter, or on a rainy day, I just can't get out of bed because I am so sad. I believe this is called Seasonal Affective Disorder, and affects people who need sunlight to make them happy! This is why I hate Winter so much, and why I love summer. Do you know anyone or think you have S.A.D? How does it affect your life?

Unfortunately i also suffer from this.i havent been diagnosed but i know that i have it.Like you say, on a summer's day everything seems fine and dandy in the world but as soon as the sky starts clouding over my smile takes a downward turn and i get intensely moody.I tend not to go out when it rains or if its really windy.if ive planned something on the day and the weather suddenly becomes yucky i more often than not will cancel my plans in the hope that things improve.it pisses me off cos i end up letting friends down and consequently get more depressed.

I used to get this, but after a few years, I started trying to get outside more, even when it was cold and grey, and I did get some sunshine. So now it doesn't affect me as much. I still get depressed even in the summer, though.

I get a little bit depressed during the winter. Especially on the extra cold and cloudy days. I can't stay in bed, we have horses to take care so I *have* to get up. That's probably good for me? My hubby gets kind of down during the wintertime too. I imagine S.A.D. probably affects alot of people whether they realize it or not? I remember hearing somewhere if you stay next to a light bulb (maybe 100 watts???) for a certain amount of time that bright light is supposed to trick your mind into thinking it's bright and sunny instead of cloudy and dreary out. Not sure on that. It's been a long time since I saw that and I only caught part of the segment about it on tv.

I get it to a small degree but it kinda is dependant on how things are going for me generally too. if things are generally bad then it tends to affect me more in the winter but then again i do prefer to go for long walks to think when i feel down in the winter so......
