love - who is love and heart related?

Friends, love is a very wonderful words that touches all of us someime during our life. However i am in a big confusion and dialemma. Why is love always related to the heart or by a heart sign and never y any other symbol or body part?

Isnt it really lovely that we have heart to fall in love, but then again we are always a failure in love. Atleast i am. any justifications on that friend?
