What was your child's first day to school like?

My eldest son is now in 2nd Grade. I remember his first day to school. He was 4 years old then when I enrolled him for pre school. I was so excited for him! I even remembered the clothes he wore. I was excited and the same time worried. I have a lot of what if's on my mind before his first day. What if he don't like his classmates, his teacher.. All the ifs! When his first day came, I remembered he has all this "baon" snacks I prepared for him, well you know how parents are! heheheh.. I accompanied him inside and introduced him to his teacher. I observed his reaction, it was okay, then he was seated with another group of little boys. I thought he is okay already with the setting. I told him mommy will just wait outside, he nodded, perhaps not sure of what will happen next. I was just near their classroom's window where I can see them. And I observed that he wasn't really that participative in their activities. Just few minutes later he took his snacks inside his bag and ate! Like he doesn't care where he is! that was not time for snacks yet! LoL! Then after that took his bag, the teacher asked him where he is going and he said, I wanna go home already! The teacher understood the child and let him go. I didn't really feel bad about it, I know he's still adjusting. I talked to him and explained why he needs to go to school and told him he'll meet a lot of new friends through his classmates. I guess the child understood because the next day he was more active and did finish the whole duration of the class. I was so proud of him! Well mom's out there what was yours like?
