Sounds like fun doesn't it? For the most part it is but if you are on a multiple player online game like World of Warcraft (war-crack ;) do you ever think about age differences in the actual players and the content of some of the character 'chats'? I'm gonna be 49 (thats Years, not Levels) this year and I have gotten 'flirted with' routinely by 'teen Players' ever since I entered the game. I tend to ignore any characters that I are not people that I specifically made arrangements to 'meet up with' that are Known Gamer Friends outside of WoW. I know some people would say "what's the harm in a little innocent flirtation" - but I just can't do it. These gamers do make arrangements to meet Off Line at conventions, or even locally if they get friendly during chats - I'm not taking the chance that someone either thinks I'm 'something I'm not' and gets hurt or if some other adult starts thinking I'm setting a 'trap' for kids. What do you think? Is it Harmless Fun? Is it possibly dangerous? Is the potential harm worth the vicarious jollies? I don't think any level of vicarious jollies that might involve injuring anyone is worth it - especially a child. Just so you know.
