I had what I thought was a great idea - knit strips of denim into a small bag or purse. I am within 3 rows of finishing one of my own design in a very chunky (6) yarn and thought I would try it in denim. Also thought about weaving one (like a ribbon purse) as well. Boy I sound so ambitious. LOL
Has anybody else tried this? I'd like to get feedback before I even get some old jeans to cut up. THX

I've never done this with jeans - I have with t-shirts though, and you just sort of rip back and forth to make a really long strip. I found instructions on someone's blog, I think it was while I was looking up stuff on rag rugs.

I haven't yet tried it. I haven't even looked for projects on the internet yet. I have been just too busy to make the time.
Unfortunately for me, this is just 1 of soooo many things I want to try... not enought hours in my day! If I find anything I will certainly pass it along :D

i have never thought about doing this but it sounds like it is fun and i will have to give it a whirl it sounds like it will make a really cool design when you are done with it i have always wanted to try knitting a purse anyways i do have some old jeans that i could use and if i run out of jeans i could run down to the goodwill store and get some more for really cheap but how do you keep a like to denim going because jeans are not as long as yarn is so you would have to keep tieing off and starting up again my tieing off is a little sloppy
