Some of my friends recommend Mc Affee and others say Norton but I am using an AVG as of now and I find it convenient as for now. I already tried those two before but not satisfied, so what can you say or recommend? I need your feedbacks on your PC experience.

I'm using Kaspersky Anti-Virus and it works a lot better than any other anti-virus that I've tried. AVG doesn't really clean your PC well enough to remove all the worms and trojans and stuff.
You might also want to try NOD32. My boyfriend uses this and he has positive feedback for it.

There's a trial version for Kaspersky, so maybe you should try that and see if it suits you. You also might want to check out some Top 10 lists of anti-viruses. That might help you more.

"Best" depends on what features you think are the most important in an antivirus. They don't all do the same things. Here are a few examples:
- NOD32 and Avira AntiVir are usually the stand-out choices in terms of heuristics, that is, algorithms that help to catch new threats without an exact signature.
- Kaspersky updates the fastest, and also offers the ability to create rescue disks. This can be useful if critical system files are damaged.
- GData AVK (AntiVirenKit, German) combines the scanning engines of Kaspersky and BitDefender, and adds a unique tool called OutbreakShield. Leveraging partnerships with Internet traffic monitoring companies, GData can see right away when a significant volume of traffic springs from a single origin. The contents of that traffic are downloaded to GData's servers, and updates relayed to clients, all in a matter of seconds. Until the code is verified to be safe, it is blocked from being downloaded to client machines.
- CyberDefender uses a new innovation called the Early Alert Center, which uses client machines as its "sensors." Whenever one of some 12 million machines on which their software is installed detects "suspicious" activity, the code is immediately uploaded to the Early Alert Center, where machines analyze it using the Universal Threat Scale. Once the payload (if any) has been determined, updates are relayed back to the original reporting client, which updates ten of its peers, which in turn update ten of their peers, and so on. This not only cuts costs, it also cuts traffic congestion, allowing the entire sequence of events from initial report to update to be completed in about an hour!
By the way, do you have a firewall? You should, as it (not your antivirus or antispyware) is your first line of defense. I recommend Kerio, BlackICE, or McAfee. ZoneAlarm Pro or ZoneAlarm Security Suite might be good too (definitely NOT the free version), but I haven't tested them yet. Salute!

Hi,
Sure, you can list me as your friend. Thank you. And thanks a lot for the best response! :)
I'm using AOL Safety and Security Center. It uses McAfee's antivirus and firewall, and PestPatrol for antispyware. It's one of the best deals I've ever found for free. The firewall is key.
I also use Arovax Shield to lock my registries, and Folder Guard Pro to lock my system32 folder. It's overkill for average users, but it gives me perfect scores in PC Security Test 2006!!! http://www.mylot.com/w/image/1488078.aspx
