Anybody aware about 'Reiki'? What is Reiki?

This is alternative method of healing, similar to manual therapy.They use energy and positive thinking. There are different lines of Reiki and Reiki is good for combination with other methods- meditation, prayer, aromatherapy, visualisaton, herbs.

Reiki is a form of spiritual practice, often compared to faith healing, proposed for the treatment of physical, emotional, mental and spiritual diseases. Mikao Usui (re)developed Reiki in early 20th century Japan, where he said he received the ability of 'healing without energy depletion' after three weeks of fasting and meditating. Mikao Usui's Reiki method spread widely. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."

Try reiki out practically and you shall know how deep the roots are - beyond what is human or probably beyond time. That is one reason that Reiki energy is not depleted, for it transcendents space and time both. It is as old as the earth!

I haven't studied it more then just learning about it in my other readings of oriental healing methods, but it is something along the lines of acupressure and acupuncture. Reiki like other oriental healing methods are full body holistic healing. By healing the body you heal individual parts. All take the bodies natural energy and use it to heal.

Reiki is not just for healing others, people can do Reiki for themselves to comfort or heal and both. Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method everyone can use. Reiki is not taught in the usual sense its transferred to the student by a Reiki Master. My Reiki master transferred to me now I use Reiki and its wonderful.

Till now i have not even heard the word reiki...but now through this topis i have got a bit idea wat is it...
