Here the philippines, its more of a practice to use spoon and fork when eating...but there are countries that uses fork and knife when eating..
i have a friend who got married with a danish guy, when they live together, she has to learn how to eat using the fork and she said it took her almost a month to master it..
what about you? which one are you comfortable using...
for me, i can go for fork only, or sometimes when theres soup, i use spoon but for dry dishes, i can go for fork and knife...

I am from China, and we use the chopsticks when eating.
do you know chopsticks, they are usually made by wood or bamboo and sometimes by plastic , it made up by two stick and for foreigner, it is hard to use it.
we also use spoon when we eat soup ,and use fork and knife when we eat Western-style food.
it is not a problem to use any of them.

well, i am a filipino and in our country, which is the philippines, there are times when we eat with just our hands. its like part of our culture and when eating with friends that way, its like a sign of absolute closeness. :)

I don't believe I have ever used a fork and spoon together while eating. Usually I just use a fork or a knife when when I have steak or something large. I have seen folks use a fork and a spoon while eating spaghetti, though. It probably just depends on the person.

Here in Britain it is more customery to use a knife and fork. That is probably due to the fact that alot of our more traditional food here actually needs cutting with a nice.
We havea joke here about saying fork and knife as opposed to knife and fork. If you say fork and nice with a funny accent is sounds like fcuking knife. We used to say to customers in work...would you like a fcuking knife and they would have no idea.

I am more used to fork and knife. And I use both all the time, even when I'm eating at home alone.
I could use fork and spoon but I feel more at ease with the fork and knife.
I"m afraid I also use different forks for main course or desert and sometimes I even use special forks if I'm eating fish. My mom drilling it into me too well LOL
