I spent about three months in D.C. getting my Fellowship at the World Bank Institute. I was young then and full of ambition. The general atmosphere was peaceful and quite There was no threat of terrorism. I was impressed most, that the President of the most powerful nation in the world had the time to walk the lawns of the white house and greet passers by accross the white house fence. Most of my weekend time were spent in Smithsonian, looking at artifacts and museum pieces with awe and scrutiny. I was amazed on how these pieces of historical artifacts were collected, stored and maintained. Wow! the big diamonds.
"Single Bars" provided my nightly entertainment - meeting some newly-found lady friends. I don't know if "Apple Tree" and "King Arthur" are still there (NW). D.C. I miss you!

When my girls were young we use to go to DC and visit the museums. That has been a while though. I think the last time I was in DC was for the Promise Keepers Rally they had there.
