Did anyone beside me feel a little disappointed about the finalists?

I am as liberal as the next guy but I felt a little strange that the last two finalist both had foreign accents. Don't get me wrong they both were beautiful and they both had worked very hard this has nothing to do witht the presence of them but with the absence of a finalist that did not have an accent. Please forgive me I know that sounds biased but I kinda felt like I was left out. I had nothing in common with either woman but sympathized with their trials it just seemed that in the final hour the name should have been changed to The next top model. Those ladies ended up there and represented their heritage to the best of their ability I just felt like something was missing. Poor Renee beautiful and classy but too much of lifes' experiences caused her to be considered to old looking. I thought she was beautiful and being that the show made her over to say they saw that face before as a winner was very unfair in my eyes she definitely should have been a finalist I guess the question is in who's place? They were all great and I guess the best American won I just felt slighted maybe it's my mind set but it's an honest opinion so I hope our ladies get it together for next season. Again not saying they should not have been there I just wish a more traditional contestant would have made it to the finals as well.

While both the finalists were very pretty, I do wish Renee had been their, rather than Natasha. Throughout the show, I never really liked Natasha very much. I think, however, that both of the ladies in the top two were Americans, whether or not they had accents. While Natasha was born in Russia, she always made it clear to where she felt her home was. This season kinda of surprised me. Usually I find a person I really, really like, and that I'm rooting for from the beginning, but I never found her this time. From other seasons, it's been Naima, Mercedes, and Caridee, but nothing about these girls personalities really stood out much to me.

I appreciate your response and yes they were both americans I did not mean to imply that but the obviousness of them represented a heritage along with American was made evident by the final portion where they both spoke their native languages while summarizing the experience I just felt like I did not belong at that moment. but you are right about what you said I do agree. I just found nothing American about that moment and the it is called Americas next top model but it comes from the way I was raised. We know America is a melting pot and is made up of all races nationalities and that's great but there are still places that if I go in I somehow take away from the intent.

I honestly think Natasha should of won. She was in my eyes the real "America's Next Top Model" but that is my opinion.
I think Renee should of been up with Natasha because she is beautiful and I think she took better pictures then Jaslene did.
I think the "OLD" comment was really hurtful and wasn't write and Tyra shocked me when she said that. I didn't think she would do that. That is really some hurtful words.
But in my eyes, I still think Natasha should of won.
I think Jaslene worked hard, but I wasn't happy she won.
All in all, every girl on the show is beautiful...

Foreign accents? Do the finalists need to speak with a southern drawl to make you happy? Hispanics are one of the largest majorities in this country. Jaslene was born in Puerto Rico. In case you are unaware that is a US territory which makes her a natural born American citizen.
Natasha may not have been born in the US, but she is still a legal US citizen. She has just as much right to compete in the competition as anyone else.
I personally wanted Natasha to win. Renee was very pretty but I didn't like her attitude. Jaslene wasn't that attractive in my opinion and was a little too bony and shapeless for my tastes.

I actually was rooting for Jaslene from the start. I liked her because she was different. I never like Natasha. I did feel like Renee grew as a person & deserved to be in the top 2.

I don't think these contestants were any more or less American for thier accents. I also don't think it was less American of them to speak in thier native languages. Someone can be born here (though Natasha wasn't) and still speak the language of thier ancestors. In fact, I think it was a very American moment because the U.S. is comprised of people from all over the world and just because the languages they spoke weren't a part of your American upbringing doesn't mean that it's not a part of American life for thousands of others who live here. What exactly is a more traditional contestant? Are Black/African-American people considered traditional to you? I'm just trying to grasp what your thought process is. Personally, I wasn't a fan of either of them (especially not Natasha) but I guess the judges know what they are doing.

I was actually very excited about the finalists. Natasha made possibly the BIGGEST change overall in ANTM history, and was extremely sweet the entire time. Jaslene was one of the most driven ones, and I liked her flare. I loved that if you had asked me who would be in the final 2 at the beginning, I would never have pegged either of them.
As for Renee, she did look old, and she was an ugly person on the inside for most of the show. Yes she had some pretty pictures, but so did Jaslene and Natasha. I don't prefer snobby rude girls, and I believe she got what she deserved. If she had been nice the entire time, she might not have been judged so harshly. Maybe she will learn from her mistake.

I wasn't particularly enthusiastic about any of the contestants this year. I've always had someone to root for, but this year was a letdown. I can't say I loved either of the finalists, but I didn't think that their accent should have come into question at all. The United States was a country founded on foreigners, and both of the girls were clearly Americans in my opinion. I can see where you're coming from, but I don't really agree that their accents made them unrelatable. Besides, I'm sure those two girls both spoke to many viewers even if not to you.
Still.. I was disappointed for other reasons. =/
