I am expecting on or before the 4rth of July with my second baby and it seems the date is just around the corner. I will be having another girl, much to the delight of my 3 year old toddler. She loves the idea of having a baby sister. We asked her what name she wanted to call the new baby and we were not expecting her response....she said, "ALENA". I have to check where she heard that name before, probably in one of her favorite show or DVD. We love the name and it means "light, rock and the bright one." I am happy though that the baby is healthy and already weighing 4 lbs and 8 oz. No wonder my tummy is so heavy nowadays.
So Alena will be the first name. We are still thinking of a middle name that will sound good with the first name. Any suggestions for a name? I might be able to tell my baby in the future that mylotters help me decide her middle name...lol.

Hello Ladymoonstone! Congratulations! I think maybe he heard the Alena from the show "Encantadia". Alena is played by Karylle like the keeper of the water element and sister of Danaya, Amihan, and Pirena. Anyway, if not,~lol there are a great choice of name too. Or Alena Marie, Alena Mae or Lady Alena is cute too. Anyway, I wish you a safe delivery. More Blessings! (^^,)

Thank you so much. That is what I long for, a fast and safe delivery. When I was growing up, my mother and my aunts used to tell me that when you give birth, one of your feet is already in the ground, but then I can just imagine because all of them except my mother gave birth at home. I can't imagine giving birth without epidural...lol.
I heard my mother mentioned that to me coz I was asking her what programs she usually watch. I have to looked at my daughter's programs because definitely she haven't seen "Encantadia"...=)
Thanks for the suggestions.

Yeah, I know the feeling especially I had to deliver tru C-Section, twice. But once you see your baby, she/he is worth the battle and the victory. And you're very much welcome Ladymoonstone! Have a safe delivery! (^^,)

Hmmm... The only thing that keeps coming to mind it Alena Ann. I really like the name Ann but some people don't. You could also use Alena for the middle name and still call her by it. Just a thought. Alena is unique but not wierd, very nice :) Best wishes to you and your growing family!

well congratulations for a healthy baby girl... ALENA is very nice name actually in our country there was this tv series, a story about 4 sister in a somewhat fairyland setting and ALENA is the name of the goodess of water and she has a very nice voice, that name symbolizes beauty, calmness and purity of heart

That is why I am taken by the name aside from the fact that my toddler loves it and she refers the baby by that name. I love the meaning of the name too. Thanks for the comment.

Congratulations on your upcoming arrival! I have always liked the name Danielle. Unfortunately I was blessed with 4 boys so was not able to use the name, but I wanted to name our girl Alexis Danielle. It's still not too late...maybe I will have a girl sometime soon...lol
Good luck with the name, I always had problems coming up with good names. I let my hubby and dad name our last baby, not sure why I did that. His name is Dakota Sun. I am ok with the 1st name, but not the middle. We have Indian in us and they both wanted to go native so I let them.

Exciting times ladymoonstone! I think it's a lovely idea for you to get your daughter's input in naming her new sister! When I was three and my mother was pregnant with my brother, I decided I knew what his name would be, but my parents named him something completely different, and I felt quite indignant, especially as I knew he was going to be a boy before they did! Alena is a beautiful name - if I might suggest Jasmine as a middle name, as it's such a beautiful plant with a lovely-sounding name. Whatever middle name you decide on, I'm sure it will be beautiful as your new daughter will be. All the best to you and your growing family.

Aww I'm so happy for you! Congratulations! I think Alena is a really pretty name, also. Tell your daughter good job on picking out such a cute name! As far as middle names, that can be tough. I have always liked the middle name Rose. But good luck on finding out, and keep us posted. Congrats again! :)
