Iced tea ... sweetened, flavored or what

I drink iced tea all the time but especially during the summer. I usually just drink it sweetened (unforunately with artificial sweetener due to diabetes) and with a slice or 2 of lemon or a slice of lemon and a slice of lime.
I know my sister and mother like to get the flavored teas like with raspberry or peach, but I just prefer the subtle flavor that the lemon and lime have.
So what do you like in your iced tea. Do you like is extra sweet like southern US sweet tea, or just mildly sweet, and what types of flavors would you want in your tea???

I like sweetened tea with a slice of lemon. I use honey as sweetener, for a natural taste. I'm not really a fan of flavored teas. Plain would do.
I agree with you, iced tea is really good especially during the summer when the weather is really warm. A tall glass of tea with lots of ice... refreshing!

I enjoy the honey in hot tea but except for bottled tea with honey and lemon I have never had it in my home made tea.

I grew up with a Grandmother who liked plain, strong iced tea. No sugar, no nothing. I found it horrible. I used to add lots of sugar, because she never bought lemons.
Now I know why she didn't buy lemons -- she was on a very fixed income and really couldn't afford them. Her family was also from Ireland, and I think they did things very frugally.
I grew up with Unsweetened Iced Tea with Lemon. I love it! Nothing says "Summer" like a cold glass of iced tea sparked to life with fresh lemon!
Hubby wants me to write in that he likes Sweetened Iced Tea with Peach. He's got some Southern tastes, since he was trained in the Army down South.
Oh, oh! A tip for those who like Iced Tea with Lemon, but find it to taste a little "off" after a day or two:
***Don't put the lemon wedges in the tea unless you intend to drink it all right then. Why? The white of the rind leeches out into the tea because of the tannins in it, and it makes the tea bitter.
So squeeze in the lemon, but don't store your tea with the lemon wedges in it.
***Also, when storing Iced Tea with Lemon, place a top on the jug or cover it with saran wrap to keep it from soaking up the refrigerator smells.

I like the plain lemon flavored iced tea. I don't like it too sweet.
Oh wait, there's these Japanese red tea that a restaurant here serves which is just so sweet. I guess that's the only sweet iced tea that I like.
