Alfred Hitchcock,Matin Scorsese,Steven Spielberg,George Lucas,Billy Wilder,David Lean, the list goes on and on.They all share one in common, and that is they all are the excellent director in our history. Some of them died but will never fade in our memory. Some of them still alive and keep presenting us with the outstanding masterpieces. So who do you think is the best director? No matter if he or she is dead or alive?Just share with us the best choice you make.

I don't think there's ever one single best of anything. Directors have different qualities and I value them for different qualities. Everybody here seems to think Spielberg is the best. I disagree. He's merely one of the most popular. I would rank Stanley Kubrick, Akira Kurosawa, Takashi Kitano, Stephen Frears, Jim Jarmusch, and many other directors far above Spielberg.
