is there a culture of snacking in the office where you work? do you have a food corner? or just the 'official pantry'?
what kinds of food do you enjoy snacking on? do you snack everyday at a certain time?
there's definitely a snack culture in my office. not everyday but people will emerge and offer snacks. and usually everyone has their own personal stash in addition to the group mound.

My personal stash is just biscuits. Kinda sad, so I try to make myself feel happier by taking from my colleagues personal mound. I repay them with my charismatic personality. They usually do not mind :)

There always seems to be snacks available at my office. I don't know why, but there are always people bringing in things like candy and cookies. to make matters worse, we have a lot of lunch meetings, so there is always leftovers available too. My office also has a little pantry where we keep microwave popcorn available for people who might be working late.
My officemates and I tend to go after the snacks at around 3 when we start getting a little hungry after eating our lunches. In fact, my co-worker has been keeping a bunch of those mini bags of Doritos under her desk and people have been asking about them. I bet they will be gone before the week ends.

haha! I'm sure your co-worker keeps them under her desk for a reason. but alas, they have been noticed! and preyed upon, no less!
microwave popcorn sounds great. it's all fluffy so even after eating a lot it's not really fattening. unless there's a lot of salt and butter added of course.

Oh yes I think mostly all of us do that. Sometimes I feel like eating only salty snacks. Then other times I just sweet snacks. And I wont deny myself of snacking. Its just too much fun.LOL

We actually try to keep snacks out of our office. Too much snacking, plus stiing at a desk all day equals me not fitting into my work clothes anymore!
There is a cafeteria at my work, but that closes at 2pm, so if you want anything to eat after that it's either from your personal stash, or the vending machines. I try to stay away from the vending machines as there are NO healthy snacks in there, just candy and chips. My personal stash is usually almonds, or veggies. I also drink a lot of tea and that helps to tide me over.
Sometimes there is also food left over from big meetings...that's when things get really temping. We are coming up on a time of the year when there is free food everywhere...and that can be very hard to reisist.

i totally understand what you mean. It is that time of the year where the vendors are pushing for either upgrades or new products, and they are constantly inviting you to attend their workshops. Such workshops will always have some sort of tea break, loaded with coffee, tea, juices and lots of snacks and knick knacks for you to eat during the breaks in the meetings.
And the food provided is always sufficient to go around with enough to spare. AND most of the food are sinful!!!

we have a pantry. Snacking is usually private stash except for festive periods, where many people will bring some snacks to share.
Snacking at a certain time everyday? yes... cos after lunch, sure got a few hours will be super sleepy... so snack on fruits like guava to keep awake.

We usually take snacks in the office at 3 pm. We do have a pantry, free juices and hot drinks. We buy sandwiches, pasta or biscuits if we like to

revisiting this topic, I do notice a snacking culture in the current office I am in.
There is a girl in the office that really like to bake and make cakes and pastries. I really appreciate it when she brings her cakes or cookies and share it with everyone! Something home made is always better tasting than those you bought from the store. Reminds me of the many times I used to bake at home with mum. :p
The snack sharing is more prominent among the girls. And each time they share snacks, they are bound to chit chat about it, or gossip a little before going back to their work. It is a great way to socialize!
