As seen from my previous discussion, I am going to be having kilbasa for dinner tonight. I have to admit, my usual preperation of it is pretty standard, I usually just bake it in the oven with some sautkraut (if I have beer, I will add that too) and/or veggies....If it's too hot to turn on the oven, I will pan fry it.
But I am wondering if anyone out there has a more exciting recipe that they would like to share. I really like kilbasa and I'm a pretty adventerous eater, so let me know what you've got!

It's a type of plish sausage. They most likely sell it in your local supermarket.

Well, I don't have a specific recipe for it, but I'll give it a shot.
I take sauerkraut and spread it over the bottom of an 8 1/2 x 11 pan, then I put egg noodles (uncooked) as the next layer. Then I take cream of chicken soup, mustard, and chopped onion and mix it together and that's the next layer. (I really don't measure, sorry). I then cut up kielbasa and put it all over the top, then the final layer is cheese, usually mozzarella, but swiss is good too.
Then you bake it for about an hour. It's pretty good. Oh, I've used cream of mushroom soup instead of cream of chicken before, too.

I think this one is pretty adventurous:
SWEET & TANGY KIELBASA
2 rings of kielbasa
1 jar of grape jelly
1 bottle of any ketchup
Mix grape jelly with ketchup in crockpot. Slice the kielbasa about a fourth of an inch thick and place it into crockpot. Then mix all ingredients together.
Cook on low for about 5 hours.

And this one:
KIELBASA - MUSHROOMS
1 sm. green pepper
1 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced
3/4 c. butter
1 lb. kielbasa, sliced
1 c. tomato soup
1 tall thin can grated Parmesan cheese
Saute pepper and mushrooms in butter until tender. Mix kielbasa, tomato soup, cheese and mushrooms. Put mixture into a covered saucepan. Cook on low heat, stirring frequently until cheese is stringy.

One day we were running low on groceries and only had kielbasa and onions left. Quite by accident we created a recipe that we now eat almost every week.
You will need:
1/2 pack of kielbasa (or more per your tastes)
1 medium onion
lemon pepper seasoning
olive oil
Start with a light sprinkling of olive oil in a medium pan or skillet. Slice 1/2 of a kielbasa into thin slices or fourths if you prefer smaller bites & add to the oil in the pan. Chop the medium sized onion into small pieces and add to the pan. Simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally until all onions are soft. Sprinkle lemon pepper seasoning to desired taste when the onions are cooked down.
Everyone loves it, so we make this meal often now.
