Yahoo news has reported that a pair of gay flamingos in London have adopted an abandoned chick. They have been together for six years. They have advantage over their human species - male flamingos are able to produce milk in their throats. That's not the shocking news. A spokeswoman says that gay flamingos are not uncommon. I wonder if this scenario in the animal kingdom is limited to flamingos? It's interesting to read and a little quirky in my opinion, so it's gonna take me a longer time to get used to this idea.

can female flamingoes produce milk in their throats?
this is quite a quirky animal kingdom story. reminded me of this other one. Do you know that seahorses change from male to female throughout their life cycles? they are male, then female to get pregnant, then male back again or something. so all in one - super.

Oh yeah, now that you mentioned it, I did read about seahorses way back. Kinda quirky too.
