Lifehack.org has reported this 10 ways to prevent yourself from messing up your life. Here is the condensed version: 1. Stop taking so much notice about how you feel 2. Let go of worrying. It often makes things worse. 3. Ease up on the internal life commentary. 4. Take no notice of your inner critic. 5. Give up on feeling guilty. 6. Stop being concerned what the rest of the world says about you. 7. Stop keeping score. 8. Don't be concerned that your life and career aren't working out the way you planned. 9. Don't let others use you to avoid being responsible for their own decisions. 10. Don't worry about your personality. You don't really have one. Which one of these do you think you can connect with? For me, it's #8. Sometimes I really think my career is going in circles and get a little depressed about it.

haha, i like the ease up on the internal life commentary thing. i think bloggers are guilty of that. most bloggers (esp the star ones) are very self absorbed). perhaps blogging has made our society more introspective. perhaps it just feels the emo high of our teenagers. i think 6 is quite important actually. it's important to be self aware. i know people who practise 6 literally and they are oblivious to their terrible EQ deficiencies! I guess on the one hand, shouldn't let others' opinions affect yr self esteem too much. but on the other hand, need to evaluate feedback and see whether it's really true!

you are right to some extent. That is why it is important to have everything in moderation. The list above is just a guide. Actually if you think about it, it looks like the very guidelines that most religions preach today... variations of it, but similar.

Ah... you got a really good set of advice there Brother! Interesting... some one actually came up with that just like that? It is a good set of rules... question is, did the author manage to practice all of them? Don't just relate to one of them... put all of them to use! remember rule 1, 2, 3... it should be especially useful rite now.

I do not know if the author actually practices all of them but they are really good advice. That's why I thought of sharing them with you. Thanks for the encouragement as well! I'll definitely try to follow as closely as possible.

aha...I am thinking about what if I am that man who you talk about,I will don't happy,Giving me a choice, I am also fancy that the life looking like messing up by myself at the being time.I feel like living in my own sky, I always thinking about everything about mine including in the past, now and in the future. I belive if you have any target everyday you will growing up fast, so I give myself limited mistake too much,If I have broke my rule, I will guilty, but it is worth of doing that will develop myself in the process.

erm... I am having a hard time trying to decipher what you are talking about. You are translating directly from chinese aren't you? Why would you not be happy? You are where you are because of your own choices. Given the situation that you are in, is there anyway for you to look forward and make things better? Rather than moping about lost opportunities, look forward to new opportunities. Yesterday is gone, today is here, and plan for tomorrow. No point crying over milk that is spilled. Pick up the mop, clean up the mess and pour another glass of milk. No point being guilty. Make amends to correct the mistake. I believe the chinese has a saying "Tien wu jue ren zi luo, zi pa you xin zhe" -- Loosely translated, "there is no end of the road, just people with a blocked mindset" Look for a way... there is always a way.

I agree with you that as you make mistakes, you learn from them and that makes you a better, stronger person. It's the only way to grow as a human being.
