I admit it, I love bad movies. Not the ones that were supposed to be great, but bombed, but the ones where the makers set out to make a bad movie, and succeeded! Napolean Dynamite, Dumb & Dumber, Tremors, Cry Baby, Rock & Roll High School... and of course, the crown jewel of my DVD collection... Attack of the Killer Tomatoes! How about you, are their any B's you love enough to own?

I remember a bunch from the early to mid sixties that would qualify, RKO used to put out a bunch of them. Black Castle had some good B movies as well as Hammer (I think that was the name) We have Crybaby on VHS actually we taped it...yeah that's right, some of us haven't completely shifted over to DVD yet...but we are working on it. We have the Elvira movies which are pretty good, oh and then theres Mars Attacks and SpaceBalls...along with several others. Between the bad sci-fi, the horror, and the spoofs, there is a lot to choose from.

I love Tremors :) and Attack of the Killer Tomatoes is just a classic. A couple of nights ago I watched a movie called "Dodgeball". It was on regular tv, dumb movie really but good as well. Had you laughing if nothing else. This is one of those that impress me as a bad movie that was meant to be bad. The only one I own are Tremors and maybe if you put Hudson Hawk into that category. I happen to love the movie but I know many think it was lousy.

Hehhe well that's how I feel about Tremors. They were trying to make it a good one but came out with this movie that works in a weird way.

I put "Hudson Hawk" in the category of "Movies that were supposed to be good but turned out wonderfully bad". It is a small clique of films that pompously look down on the B movies... even though they have no right to be pointing fingers at anyone. :~D

I have to say Napolean Dynamite is one of the funniest films I have ever seen. It looked so stupid that I refused to watch it for a long time. The first time I saw it I thought it was just mildly funny. I have now seen it about 30 times and it just keeps getting funnier every time I see it. It, just goes to show you, you can't always believe the critics.

It was the same way with me. I had refused to watch it at first because it looked too stupid. But a friend said I HAD to watch it so I did and loved it. :)

Oh, it's so awesomely bad! Here's a quote to encourage you to hurry up and rent it today! "News Announcer: And today the president closed the nation's last remaining submarine base at Groton, Connecticut. When asked why he had made the startling decision the president responded, "Those funny little black ships just keep sinking anyway."

OMG.. me too! LOL I have to admit Napoleon Dynamite is one of my fave movies of all time! I think its actually quite funny that it turned out like it did, somewhat better then some multi-million dollar movies! Have you ever seen a late night show called Off Beat Cinema? It's based out of Buffalo, NY and plays all B movies, many you've never heard of. I know they play in some Florida markets, here in Erie on our Local channel (although we're technically close enough to the buffalo area that this isn't all that unusual). Check out their site http://www.offbeatcinema.com and you will LOVE it. I hope you can get it where you're located.
