Barring abuse or unrepentant infidelity or addiction, I would be trying to find ways to improve my marriage. Marriage isn't easy, and I don't think feeling like it's going nowhere is a reason to give up.
I don't think however, that we are expected to tolerate abuse or infidelity.

Yeah, I was really trying to improve the marriage. I even tried religious counseling. I'm afraid I might end up losing myself, lower my self esteem etc. However I wouldnt allow that to happen to me.

i wish i have the qualifications to share things with you lengthily on this. if you will read the Bible, at that portion which is already applicable within the context of the present times, per the teaching upheld by Jesus Christ, we can opt for a divorce or a legal separation when the marriage is no longer viable.
when a couple keeps on quarreling and can no longer be living together in a peaceful environment, it is best that they go their separate ways. go then for the legal options to include: legal separation, divorce or annulment of marriage. whichever you may choose, you may never remarry again. for it is so stated that we can be a husband or a wife to only one person. therefore, it is alright to be with the man or woman whom you had parted ways with before, get reunited, but never marry another person at all.
