Would you rather have the Pill or get the Shot?

I am curious on what is more preferenced between the Pill and the Shot. I have heard weird things about them both. I dont know if the shot is healthy because it stops your period. The pill is hard to remember to take all the time and if you miss it once, you can get pretty screwed up. Which do you prefer? Have you tried the Patch?

Neither... well, both my husband and I are afraid of side effects taking anything orally so we have decided to use the traditional way of contraception. He has heard from friends who had problems conceiving after being on the Pill so he absolutely forbids me in taking any since we plan to have more children. I am not keen as well to take it anyway. I am not familiar with the Shot... but it doesn't sound appealing... anyhow, I believe both methods mess up our biology and hormones... so I will stay away from it and stick to the rubber.

I prefer the pill. My life is on a schedule so it's not hard for me to remember to take the pill. I'm on Seasonal, 4 periods a year. It's great! I had a friend that had the shot. She gained about 30 pounds and she could never get it to come off! I would never get the shot! Gaining weight is NOT on my schedule.

I was on the shot and I loved it. I would go back on it in a minute. My husband had a vasectomy so I dont need birthcontrol any longer. I'd lovre to just go on the shots to stop the periods. I was on the pill years ago and it worked fine for me. I have never tried the patch.

I think I would like the shot as well..you dont have a period althought I know thats not healthy but also you just get a shot and then dont have to worry about taking a pill everyday. That is definitely my type of protection..lol!:)

I have tried many forms of birth control. i used to have the norplant in my arm for 5 years. then i started the shot, personally i loved it. no period the entire time for like 3 years. the only thing with that is even after u stop the shot it takes almost a year to leave your system so you cant get pregnant right away. i've never tried the patch though.

I know I dont want anymore kids, at least I think so right now. I hate the idea of never being able to have kids again though, for some reason that scares me!

I have been on all kinds of birth control .I have been on the shot now for a year. The shot is bad.If your on it for along time it decreases your bone denisty. It is not recommended to be on it over 3 years. The pills always worked for me but I always forgot to take it.There are some new birth controls comming out you should look into them. There is the ring which I heard was good.
