This Is a sorry to all my friends on mylot, I have not been very active recently, but with good reason, I have fallen ill with a virus I had never heard of before I got it! You probably haven't heard of it either? Or maybe you have? I don't know, But I have Bell's Palsy, It isnt life threatening and it doesnt (always) have permanent damage. It basically means half of my face muscles are not working at the moment due to inflamation around the nerve that controls them, Im not in serious pain lol (not that you really care hehe) But I cannot blink out of my left eye and have a headache constantly. (maybe you will want to read up on it a bit, Im not going to write any more because I will bore you) Anyways, that is a sorry that I have not replied to your discussions but I have not been well and now I bid you adue because I am going to try and close my left eye and get some sleep. Again - sorry all, i love you xxx

The cause is actually unknown, the say that it can be triggered from a viral infection, most commonly ear infections although i have not had one of them, I just woke up one morning and i had it unfortunately, I need to just let it run its course really, I am on steroids and anti viral tablets. I think to help the muscles start working again and to decrease the swelling which is around the nerve, they say that it can also be caused from a bump to the head, but i didnt have that either so i don't know lol. It is hard to sleep when my eye doesnt close aswell lol. Thank you for your response. fliffy xx

I have heard of Bell's Palsy before. I hope you are feeling better soon. It must be awfully hard to sleep. Take care of yourself and come back soon.

Nah pinklilly it happens more commonly to people aged between 10 and 40, and thank you jakker, it means a lot that you think i am brave, it did scare me very much both of you, i just woke up and things deteriorated throughout the day. :( But it feels a lot better today, i still cant blink and cant use my mouth very well, im more conscious about people looking at me to be honest, it make me think are people looking at me strangely, Thank you for your replies xxx

SO is that just a temporary thing. I kind of new what is was already cos my sister had something with a similar name when she was born but it was really just her arm that was affected.
I relaly hope you do fully recover and soon. At least you have a good excuse to get people to do things for you. You can just act like an injured soilder and get people mothering you all the time.
I suppose it does kind of wear off though after a while and you just get bored. At least though it was diagnosed. I was ill last year and they couldn't diagnose what wrong with me but it was suspected appenticitis. They just done the usual though and fobbed me off unitl I made a recovery. Secretly though I am a bit of a hypochondriac.

Yes Its temporary (I hope lol) According to the doctor I should be back to normal between 2-3 months if I take all the medication they give me (which is a lot) It did take my doctor a while to find out what was wrong with me, it worried me a bit because he actually had to consult text books and the internet to find out what was wrong (its a bit worrying when your doctor does that, especially with how scared i was that i had had a mimi stroke or something) Did they ever diagnose you? Thats awful they fobbed you off until you got better, surely if it was suspected appendicitis they should have paid close attention to you? hope you are better now x

Hi fliffy555, I hope that you get better soon. Take care of yourself and don't worry about us at myLot, I think that we are all wishing you a speedy recovery. Thanks for replying to my discussion about Bell's Palsy, mine is almost gone and it took awhile but I did not dwell on it and it just keeps getting better with time. Take care of your eyes. Eye drops and an eye patch at night should help a lot...

I need eye drops! lol, Last night I slept with a bandana over my eye to keep it closed but I think it came off half way through the night, I haven't got a lot of money (£10 to be exact) so I cant really afford to go buy eye drops, Im going back to the doctors today and getting a prescription for them, My mother in law is going to get me an eye patch or something to keep my eye closed, It was so sore by the time I went to bed yesterday I couldnt believe it. I was walking round most of the day with my hand over my eye, and it was such a beautiful sunny day yesterday! :( Im glad yours is almost gone, Did it scare you when you first found out? Mine seems to be gettin better already but I don't know if that is just me forgettin about it thinkin I gotta live with it or if the medication is actually startin to work already? I dunno. Thanks for your reply xx
