I am using windows vista home premium and I have just done an action that I would like to undo
Does anyone know where I can find my back up files, or some kind of recovery ?
I have a set of recovery disks but I am afraid it would erase everything else on my computer
I have uninstalled norton by inadvertence thinking I was uninstalling another program :(
yeah I know ... how dumb can I be ... LOL
Anyway anyone can tell me if there is a way I can undo it?
thanks in advance
PS" I dont have norton's cd since it came preinstalled on my computer

Hi there Sweetie stop panicking lol
First of all Norton is rubbish please believe me
I do not know why they installed on new Computers
But you should be able to go on Nortons Site and retrieve it from there or Phone the Store where you bought the Computer
But honest Love I had it and my Computer got everything
The one I use and have done for 2 years now and I have put on the Lids Computer is Anti vir, it is a free download and it is brilliant I also use Lavasoft Spyware
A lot of my Friends use these to and they are great

hi
well it was with vista so i figured it was designed best for it
I wanted to switch to zone alarm that we had bought a couple of months ago for our desktop ... but it seems they dont have the update for vista evnthough it says on the box :"vista ready"
but the desktop uses XP ... we like zone alarm a lot and I hope they will release the vista version soon
but so far norton hd worked well on the laptop though....

Oh, that's too bad. I would have suggested system restore but like you said, it didn't work for me.
Though have you tried restoring to a much earlier time? Maybe yesterday or the day before?
If it still doesn't work and you can't get symantec to work and you badly need an anti-virus, I'd say you just have to use your back-up disks.

That happened to me once. And you know what I did I used the "SYSTEM RESTORE" GO BACK TO THE TIME WHERE YOU HAVE NOT DONE THE UNINSTALL. And I did recovered the program. I hope youwould be able to do it too.

If you create checkpoints in your PC, you can probably try System Restore. Restore it to the date when you installed that program. I don't know about Vista, but System Restore is usually located at the System Tools. Try going to Programs Accessories System Tools.
I hope this helps.

well u know its too late to recover anything ...so i wat i suggest is get the disk(borrow it or buy it) n try installing it as i dont see any easier way...system restore can get rid of software installed recently..and its not the tool to undo an uninstallation...goodluck!!
