Crying can help relieve depression, but it's definitely not the cure. Depression is a disease of the mind, and I believe that the only cure lies in strengthening the spirit. A strong spirit that is armed with the Truth, has Hope and lives with Love for God, makes a person with a strong mentality that is not in any way crippled by depression.

It is true that crying can releive depression, we are releasing the pains and worries we are suffering. I too do the same. Accompanied by crying is praying to God, to enlighten me and give me more strength to overcome all the depression i am experiencing. Afterwards, i feel too tired of crying then fall asleep. Sometimes, i cry in front of the mirror. Crazy! isn't it? Yeah, but it helps me a lot, coz i found myself laughing afterwards then move on.

I do a wide variety of things when I'm going through a depression:
I write furiously in my paper journal.
I rant about whatever it is that could be causing my depression in my online journal in hopes to receive constructive comments and support.
I research what's bothering me online.
I look for books that might help me (I have my own self-help library over here, it seems).
I talk to my mother or my boyfriend.
Nine times out of ten, though, the way I get through it is first writing it all out and then finding someone to talk to about everything.

Mostly I cry, but I also write, and I always try to find things to be thankful for, thanigs I'm happy about. Sometimes it's just little things, but the more things I find to be thankful for, the better I feel.
I'm not saying that positive thinking is a cure-all, but it does help.

I feel you should develop positive outlook to life. Think positively, have your priorities right. Also try laughter therapy having a sense of humour and having a hearty laugh is helpful. Then you should take deep breaths and focus on your breathing. Doing yoga and meditation is also beneficial. Also stay active and lead ahealthy lifestyle.
