I've seen a little of the after-hours of a crabbing ships captain, but The Discovery Channel has decided to make it into even more of a treat by bringing us tales from the Captains' table, in "After The Catch"!
The conversation can get a little salty, the drinks are all around, and the tales are many. I'm gearing up for this, because I can never seem to get enough of "Deadliest Catch". I don't care if it's watching the old folks sipping coffee and telling tall tales, I want to see it!
Did you see the clip of Sig on The Daily Show? Woof, they did a number on his hair, but what a gregarious fellow! It's rough having to watch him on "Deadliest Catch", half awake and half asleep, counting his crab and watching his crew.
As of tonight's ep, Sig was having some serious engine trouble, and for a moment I was very worried for him, his brothers and his crew!
I really hope he knows that the viewers are crossing their fingers and hoping and praying that all the guys on "Deadliest Catch" as well as all the other fishermen -- get home safe and sound.
Of course we're all wishing a good season and a nice catch for all of them, too.
So the new miniseries airs on next Tuesday night, right after "Deadliest Catch". Ah, another night of choice programming, eh?
S'gonna be terrific!

I also love this show. Started watching it 3 years ago and have lived for it ever since. Also Mike Rowe, now there is a man I could listen to for days. He isn't hard on the eyes either.

Mmm mm mm...yes, he's rather nice, isn't he?
I really enjoy his commercial voice-overs too.
He does some 4 X 4 commercial, and it's the only one that I don't change the channel on. Don't you just hate car commercials? Not when Mike does them!
I should write to that company and tell them that I love their commercials, because of Mike. In fact, they should show Mike all over them! *chuckle*
Ohh, yeaaaah..I can't tell you the morbid fascination I have for watching Mike Rowe get screwed royally while filming "Dirtiest Jobs"!
Yep, it get me right in my sweet zone, baby!

You know, you're right. I was on the phone last night with Mom, and I couldn't describe why I liked the program to a person who hasn't seen it yet!
I know my Mom would like it, but - she's more murder-mystery oriented. What was I going to say? A bunch of semi-foul mouthed men on a crabbing boat in Alaska risk their life and limb for the crab? Daring Sea-rescues? The fight to make lots of money in just three days?
I just can't see her going for my pitch. I'm just going to have to give her a taste of the DVD and see if she likes it. ;)

I didn't see Sig on The Daily Show! I would have watched it if I had known he would be on. The season just wrapped up, and I watched all four vignettes of After the Catch. I thought it was excellent! I can't believe all they have seen and experienced. It's quite remarkable.

I missed Deadliest Catch last night but I did catch the "After the Catch" show. I really enjoyed it. To actually get to see those guys just sitting around talking about their many travels, adventures, and tragedies really interested me. Those men (and some women) go through so much to live and breath those lives. I can't imagine having to do that. Can't wait for next week.
