Do you think herbal medicine is better than normal medication?

ive got degeneration of the lower spine just wanted to know if herbal medication is better than pain killers and im not talking illegal drugs just chinese medication and herbs

why only Chinese herbs. Western Herbalism is very effective, and training is very scientific. a 5 year degree.
