How do you chew gum?

Gum is a big issue for me. I can not stand to hear someone smacking it and I hate to hear bubbles. I don't even like to see it when someone blows a bubble. I am not sure where this extreme dislike of it came from but my hair stands up on the back of my neck if I am around someone smacking their gum or popping it. My children even know that if they start popping their gum to head straight to the trash can cause they are going to be made to spit it out. It really does drive me nuts. I chew gum once in a great while but I do it quietly. So how do you chew your gum? Could I be in the same room with you?

I know what you mean! my mother is an awful gum chewer, she smacks that stuff so obnoxiously it sounds like a cow! somehow she gets more enjoyment out of it with the more noise she makes. I do not tend to chew much gum and my dh never chews it. my children get it as a rare treat because inevitably someone always ends up leaving it on the furniture or it falls off the rim of their plate and onto the floor.

I cant chew gum it upsets my stomach. I hate when my daughter smacks her gum. I warn her once if she does it again I make her throw it away. My husband is addicted to gum,ever since he quit smoking. He does smack once in awhile but I will take that ovedr the smoking.

Oh I am so sorry, but you couldn't be in the same room with me, LOL. Ok yes I do all the above, BUT, not in public. I am aware how rude it is so restrain myself. However when I am home, let the smacking and popping begin! I love to hear it myself, but I also like running my nails down chalk boards, :o)

I also hate the 'chomp chomp' noise of someone chewing their gum,or the bubble blowing.....it drives me crazy but I have to admit,I am a snapper....someone who makes a bubble inside their mouth and than breaks them with their teeth causing small popping sounds.....would you still sit with me?LOL

I Love gum .. its good that i chew it .. because i have a nail biting problem and it stops me from wanting to bite my nails ;]

Well you could be in the same room as me because I will put gum in my mouth and maybe chew it for 5 minutes then spit it out. I also cannot stand to hear gum smacking it makes me want to smack the person doing it. I think it is very rude no one wants to hear that, I find that this kind of gum chewing is done mostly by younger people.

I don't chew gum very often as it makes me feel hungry. I sometimes chew a piece when driving to work in the rush hour to try and keep me calm. I think you could travel with me in terms of chewing the gum quietly but whether you would feel safe with the driving!
Bubblegum is a different matter. The whole point is to blow bubbles as big as possible but to try not to get it to pop all over my face. Mind you I haven't had any for years. Perhaps I will try it again now you have reminded me.

I chew my gum and I pop bubbles every once in a while, but I do not smack my gum.
I cannot stand people who twirl it around there finger and smack there gum. Other than that, that is all that really bothers me.
But we all have habits that annoy others.
