Is it friendly to strangers? Like wagg its tail and yapp and jump to lick anybody at all. or does it snarl grrrr grrr grr and bark its head off at strangers? MY doggie was very protective and used to HATE strangers. She would bark bark bark, until one of us comes to calm her down. She even bit one of my friends! lol But I think its a good thing. We are warned whenever a stranger comes.

whenever there are strangers, my dog barks at them. and i guess it's just right for my dog to do so. but she does not bite... it's just her act of warning us that someone is on our doorstep. she keeps on barking until we come and see who's on the door. she even guards the visitors even if they are already seated. haha. and so, they are so afraid to get up. my dog is a good guard then.

this is a good dog, really. it pays to have a dog who keeps on guard and updates us all the time whenever strangers come. you should love it how the dog makes you aware of some coming visitors.

our dog has a good habit of barking whenever somebody arrives. if it is us it will be such a welcoming sight. one could only be out of the house for half an hour to see a neighbor, then upon coming home a very warm welcome comes forth. if it is somebody else, she will surely bark so loud to call our attention. we know that she will never bite anyone because, she wags her tail to welcome anyone who comes around. we will have to be careful though, dogs have their moods, too. we can never tell when will their attacking instincts come up.

I have four dogs. All are good for nothing. They never bark when a strangers step into house. If they give biscuits all will eat happily. One day a thief came to our house, he was standing on a railing to find out how to get into our house. It was night 2 pm. I just got up from bed to go to toilet. I just saw the thief through the window. Since my room was dark he could not see me. I saw my four dogs were standing and eating the biscuits he gave them.

My dog LOVES anyone. She is a very friendly dog. However she is very protective of me and her daddy. If another dog jumps up on us she lets the dog have it. But as far as people she loves everyone and esp. children. I have a cocker spaniel. I have never seen her get mean with anyone other than a dog that is jumping on me or her daddy.

I guess he is not used to many people around. At first our dog is an unfriendly one, she used to bark out loud when there where strangers that she didnt recognize but as she grow older she knows when to bark this time... hehehe We train her not to bark especially to people like saying her name and talking that to her shes part of the family. I guess she was able to understand that... heheheh I like her a lot thats why she was called Lovely... hehehhee

It's not really my dog but my parent's dog...and he's very very friendly. He's about a 5 year old Labrador Retriever. He is extremely affectionate. He sits on people's laps sometimes if someone is sitting on the floor. (He's kind big for that, I know, lol) And he follows my dad everywhere! He is right on his heels at all times. And if my dad goes outside and doesn't bring him with he whines for him. He truly is a loyal dog. As for strangers, he LOVES people. If someone comes over he is wagging his tail and all over the place. (His tail seems kind of dangerous, lol) And furthermore he is incredible with children. He is very affectionate towards the kids and enjoys every moment with them. He even sleeps on the floor with them when they come over. I dunno, just an all out friendly dog. He's not the brighest labrador though. That breed is not only friendly, but can be very smart. He seems like his friendliness overcomes his intelligence by a lot. lol.

One of our dogs is very loving and would welcome anyone into the yard or house without even a thought. The other dog, on the other hand, is the exact opposite. She looks very mean and demon like but is really a giant teddy bear but she doesn't like strangers and will growl and bark until we go see what's going on.

My dogs keep people from wandering where they don't belong so I definitely don't mind the barking whenever someone is near the property. I live in a rural area but unfortunately my house is directly across the street from our community mailboxes so there can be quite a bit of activity there. When I first moved here some of the locals used it as their personal party place late at night. I don't think they appreciated the attention they got from my dogs so it's no longer an issue. I've pretty much been a hermit since moving here so I don't mind that my german shepherds keep people from coming here. I have friends but prefer visiting at their homes than mine. This is my private haven and I like it that way. When strangers need to come here (like say a satellite technician) the dogs warn them right away they need to behave. Both are friendly, one only after she gets to know them (and still not with everyone - she senses fear and even which people are not good) but the other one would have its 80 lbs all over you and be nibbing you if he could so I have to keep him away. I don't want anyone hurt. And they are better than a security system when living so rurual means the police taking so long to respond when you really need them to.

I have two Corgis, they love people. They will bark at first if they hear someone pull in the driveway but once they see the people the go right over and beg for attention. I bring them with me when I go shopping and they stay in the car, they only bark at other dogs but not people. They are very loving dogs!

I have two dogs, one is just a puppy at the moment, but the other is Doberman. He is very wary of strangers, He will bark to let them know that he is there, and stare at them growling until he knows that I am ok with this stranger. He is very protective of the family. He also is really great once he gets to know you.

We rescued a greyhound 2 years ago, he is 11 years old now and he is very timid, he is a great dog, but is nervous around people, he has never bitten anyone since we have had him. Greyhounds are raised as race dogs and not like a regular dog, they live in kennels instead of homes, and then retired after just 3-4 years. My dog was in a home before us but his first owner needed to go into a nursing home and he went back to a kennel, which is where we found him. He is not a very social dog, though he likes when we are home, with new people he stands very still and doesn't move and sometimes tries to hide behind us like a little kid. The only time he barks is when we come home from work, he gets very excited to see us, otherwise he never makes a sound other than that, no matter who is around or even if there are other dogs barking around him. If you have the chance to adopt a greyhound, they are great dogs.

My dog is sort of cautious when she first meets someone; not unfriendly exactly but she's pretty protective. After she gets to know someone she's extremely friendly though.
