No you are not doing anything wrong. Invite people to be your friends when you respond to their discussions.

I wouldn't worry about it!! You haven't been here that long so it isn't a bad thing!! You can wait for others to add you as a friend, or just request friends that respond to your discussions, or discussions that you like.

Did you send out requests to people? If you want to make friends you need to send them a request to be your friend.Send to as many as you can, some will accept and some won't.

You are not doing anything wrong. It took me a little while to start building up a friend base as well. Just make sure when you have a new friend to follow their discussions and contribute to them. I try to do that with my friends on a consistent basis. It makes for a mutually benefical arrangement, and you get to meet some great people. cheers,
