being a mother can be so gross sometimes!

A little bit ago, I heard my son laugh (he's almost 2), I turned around, he had his diaper pulled underneath his butt and was showing me his crack. I thought "hey where did he get chocolate from" there was brown stuff all over it. You guessed it-that's not chocolate! I went to grab him and before I knew it he plopped down on the floor, so poo went all over the carpet in his room :( I wiped him down and put him in the tub before it could get anywhere else. Then after cleaning him I cleaned the carpet. I also did check around the house for any other brown marks and thankfully there are none!

LOL I can't wait to deal with that! My lo is almost 8 months old, so he's not pulling his diaper off yet, but he did leave me a surprise while sitting in in Bumbo seat...oh, yeah. It definetly was bath time.

roflmao! This is hilarious! Especially when it isn't happening to me! :) I think we all go through this at least one time before our children are out of diapers and potty trained. It happened with all three of my children and most of my neices and nephews. :) Gross, but somebody has to clean it.

Even if we think something is funny we have to keep a stoic face. They must learn the boundaries that we all tend to live by. This was one of those yuck moments and I am glad you weathered it. I hope you acted appropriately and he does not do it again. Good description since we read and were there with you. Take care and hug him for us.

yeah, been there for sure. If only we had their energies! Enjoy them while they are little they sure do grow too fast. I have a teen and preteen now and my hands are full in a different way. Good luck to you.

My son is constantly doing stuff like that. We don't have carpet anywhere in our house right now, but if my husband doesn't get orders, we are buying a house, and it has carpet everywhere except the dining room and kitchen. So I can just imagine what that is going to be like. Between the baby and the dogs, I will hate it I'm sure! My son is tall and thin and it's nearly impossible to find any clothes that fit him. That means he can reach right in and undo his diaper and do what he wants with what he finds in there! It's so gross. We've tried so many different things to get him to stop, but just this morning, when I went in to pick him up out of bed, there was poo all over the wall. He even slept in a pair of 2 piece 12 months jammies last night, but still managed to get his little hands in there. Ugh.

I think your son is going to grow up to be a magician lol. We have carpet only in our bedrooms, the rest is tile-I really love the tile for clean ups! When we buy a house I want either tile or hardwood floors throughout, you can really see how dirty floors get.

Oh the joys of motherhood! Yes I have been there, no mother is ready for something like that. I had one of my sons do it on the floor and then crawled in it. I was gagging the whole time I tried to clean him and the floor up.

I know how you feel, when my oldest was 1 she used to play with her poop. she would put it all over everything and in her hair. I would find it in her dresser door, we got her out of that habit very fast.

ewwww! So far this has been the only bad poo incident, except for when he had rotavirus-he couldn't help getting that everywhere!

Gross! My little one has started either taking his diaper off to poop or holding it on until I've got his diaper off and haven't put a new one on yet. Ick! There's a "grossest poop story" contest going on, you might like to read. At least then you can laugh at another mother getting the poop. http://awesomemom.blogspot.com/2007/05/who-is-queen-of-poop-revised.html

Trust me, mememama, you are not the first or last mother to have experienced this one.....LOL It really takes you by surprise when it does happen though... You are lucky that you caught it when you did, my friend.... Keep your chin up, he will be potty-training soon!!!

I do consider myself lucky, I remember my niece spreading her poo all over the place at this age, I swear I feel like I'm living with monkeys sometimes!
