I want to drive to Seattle from San Diego, CA. Anyone did something similar? What is there to see on the way and how long would it take? Also what is a must to see when I am in Seattle? and what is the best time to do that kind of a trip? I will probably have a week to spend on the whole trip.

I have driven from CA to TX through AZ and NM, but other than that, I am usually a flying type person.
From what I've heard, it's almost 20 hours, but I could be wrong. I used to live in San Diego and a friend of mine was from Seattle; she would visit her mom up there and drive; of course, she stopped at hotels in Oregon overnight cause it was too much for her to drive in one sitting.
It really depends on how long you have and where you want to spend your time. I suggest driving up the PCH (Pacific Coast Highway), the 1/101 all the way up California. There is nothing on the 5, however it is the faster route. The coast is beautiful, from Ventura/Oxnard up through San Francisco and beyond. After that, Oregon and Washington are known for beautiful forests and some decent beaches as well. If you don't have as much time and need to get to Seattle, then Interstate 5 is your best bet.
I don't know what there is to see in Seattle, I haven't been there since I was 15 and it was to visit an ex-gf's family. Good luck and enjoy your trip.
