Back Pain post Epidural

My last pregnancy was really hard on me physically speaking. It was a normal run of the mill pregnancy, but it destroyed my body. Around 5 months pregnant I started to have major back pain, like a normal prgnant woman would have. Now mind you I have had a bad back since my first child. Well I can usually deal with the pain, but since I gave birth ( having the epidural) it is extreme now. Well when I requested the epidural the guy who was doing it couldnt get it in at all!!! He fiddled with it for about 45 min. They had to call another person in to complete the procedure. it took her an aditional 45 min then finally got it. I had a bruise that lasted about 5 weeks, and you can still see where they poked my over and over again. This briuse was only on my spine but it covered at least half of my spine. I litterally felt the needle scraping my bones trying to get inbetween. It was a horrific expereince. Still to this day I cannot have ANYTHING cold or hot touch my back or I feel to vomit, it's actually quite painfull. I would take birthing naturally anyday over this pain. I was wondering if anyone else had this same problem after an epidural? What did you do to heal your back? If you went to the doctors about it what happened or what did they do? Now mind you I cant afford a chiropractor ( I really wish I could) and there is no payment plan available I have already tried. I am sick and tired of having to rely on apin killers to get my housework done, or lift my littles ones for a hug and kiss. Thanks to all who reply.

same thing happened with me. they took about 45-an hour. to get it in. stuck me 3-4 times trying. and it HURT. people tell me "no no it doesn't hurt" well guess what IT F-ING HURT! no thats not right. i also had a bruise for a LONG time. for the longest time i couldn't pick up my daughter from her bassinet. i couldn't put her in her swing. it was horrible. i would just cry every time, not because of the pain, but because i couldnt do it. i still have a mark were the needle went in. i jump every time someone touches my lower back. i talked to my mid wife about it and she just told me it was probably from the way i was laying giving birth.. BULL! its A LOT better now, but i do have pains every once and a while. im 5 months PP. ive never had back problems, and now its always got an ache. im really scared to have another baby, cause i dont want it to be worse

Go to your GP and insist you see an ortho doctor. There is no need for bad pain like that. The ortho doctor may be able to give you some exercises to do that will lessen the strain or tighten up the back muscles to help alleviate the problem somewhat. Sorry I can't be of more help, but I had all 3 of my kids natural.
