....that is my question. i was taking my shower tonight and i had a thought,(that's my second best place for thinking) ;) should i even bother with shampoo. as you may be able to tell from my photo, i am not bald on top, but very, very thin. i keep it closely cut to my head so there isn't a lot of hair there. i feel as though it is just a waist of shampoo to use it, as i can easily run a wash cloth over my head to clean it. but on the other hand, there is hair there, and using shampoo may help keep that shiny and, well, there. lol. what do you think? any hair people out there got advice for a balding, but not quite there, old fart like me? and should i use a creme rinse, too? thanks.

I say no shampoo just wash your head with the wash cloth. Why waste money on shampoo.

I'd use shampoo. Probably just a small amount will do. I would think soap would be too drying? I probably wouldn't worry about conditioner though.

My ex fiancee was bald by choice, and he found that if he didn't shampoo his head when he showered, it felt too dry (if he just used soap) or greasy (if he didn't use anything at all). Your scalp evidently releases a lot of oils even if there is no hair their to nourish, so it's probably a good idea to continue with shampoo, but only to use a small dab, and to pass on the conditioner altogether. :)

thank you. that's what i was thinking. my scalp is still oily, and it does tend to dry out using only hand soap. so i think i'll shampoo like, every other time.
