i often read articles on this, and i agree, San antonio spurs TIM DUNCAN is the best Power Forward of NBA. He do not have a great partner with his side like Malone who have the great passing ability of Stockton but Timmy stands great having won championships and most likely to have another one this season!

I definitely feel that Duncan is the best power forward in the NBA. He has won the championships and has been on a consistently good team. He does not have the same point guard as Malone did, like you mentioned. Malone would be my second choice for best power forward. Good, solid power forwards are hard to come by as some play center now too. Tim may win another championship this year and maybe a MVP in the Finals.

I don't think Duncan is the best pf to date. Come to think guys like KG and JO. Jermaine O'Neal and Kevin Garnett are very good power forwards as well, but what made them better than Tim is that they're quicker than him. I think KG is the best because he can post, slash, and even pop a mid range or a trey. JO's quickness on the other hand is his major attribute. Tough luck for them that they missed the postseason.
Top 5 Power Forwards of the NBA in my Viewpoint:
5. Antawn Jamison
4. Chris Bosh
3. Jermaine O'Neal
2. Tim Duncan
1. Kevin Garnett

hmmmmm..definitely Duncan is best active power forward in the league. But the great powerforward is not DUNCAN. there's more great player in NBA, in present and in the past. Malone is great. the best NBA powerforward. He changed how people look at the power forward position.
he's not the best powerforward ever, in the active NBA roster, you got Stoudemire, Nowitzki, and Garnett. Garnett is far more better than Duncan, give him some supporting crew, and he'll be the great. He cant carry the team alone to the limelight. Duncan won championship with the help of his great teammates (parker, ginobili, bowen, and the Admiral [david robinson]). like more people says, its a team effort not an individual effort. a player can carry his team to win games, like Kobe does, but in the long run he still cant win basketball alone. he still need some crew.
its the teammate that determines if your a best player or not. in Timmy's case, he's great because of his teammates.

It differs in how you define "best". If ability-wise, well there's a reason why TD is "the Big Fundamental".Duncan would certainly not be on the top list. KG, Jermaine, Amare are great individual players. effective at their positions, imposing, and can create their own shots...more often than not, with tremendous athleticism.
If you define it in terms of stats, then TD will not be #1 in a list, since guys like KG, and Jermaine almost literally carry their teams and therefore put in numbers night in and night out.
But if you talk about leadership, leading by example (a good example that is), doing the intangibles, doing the small things that some superstars find it not in their level to be doing so, then Duncan is your #1 if not the only one qualified in such category. Duncan does the things that make his teammates effective, make his team win..whether on or off-court. To simly put it, though I stand to be corrected, put TD in Minnesota or Indiana and Im sure they'll be a far better team than they are with their current forwards. I don't know, maybe it's the talent, it's the attitude, or maybe it's his "fundamentals". Cheers!

To be fair Karl Marlone pretty much reinvented the Power Forward position to make it what it is today. People like Duncan have benefited by things he did.
Kevin Garnett may very well be a better player and Power Forward than Tim Duncan. At the very least they are in the same league, although I still think KG is better talent-wise.
I really feel bad for Garnett because he has no one on his team that is any good and the Timberwolves have always been pretty bad. Put him on a team like the Lakers, Pistons, Mav's or Spurs and he would probably get a title.

Tim Duncan is a great player, he is assured of becoming a future hall of famer.. He has won 3 season MVP, 3 Finals MVP, 1 all-star Mvp, and four championship rings around his hands.. His known to be the big Fundamental simply because his game is very effective in all ways.. He can take anybody who's gusrding him, he can use his favorite bank shot, which i think is very effective shot, also those hook shots that are ungardable, and he can maneuver anyway he likes to down low overpoawering his guard.. He has great footwork and good hands that could find cutting teammates and dribble the basketball very effecctively.. Duncan is a great powerforward but considering him as the greatest all time,,ahmm let me see, I think he has to top Nba Legends such as Karl Malone, Charles Barkley, Kevin Mchale, Shawn Kemp, and allthose great PF who played.. I don't think so, he is great but he is not yet that great as those other guys especially Malone.. But he is close to so after the end of his career I won't be surprise if he will be declared as the all time great PF...
