Need Money For...

Last year I was in downtown Houston. As we came upon a red light we saw a guy holding a sign that said need money for beer. I was quite shocked that he was so honest about it. Most people will put need money for food and then use it on beer.
Since the guy was so honest about it, my hubby rolled down his window and handed him a couple of bucks. Then the guy bummed a cigarette from him too.
Would you have given this guy the money since he was honest about it? Or would you have just passed on by laughing? Just curious to see who would and wouldn't help this guy out since he was so honest.

I dont think i will give, this is my honest answer too. I will give someone money if it is for a good cause but eventhough he was honest i am sorry i not will give.

I wouldn't have either, it was my hubby that said we should since he was being honest!

I used to live in downtown Philadelphia and would be confronted with panhandles every single day that I walked to work, most of the time they ate better than me and probably had more money than me, for this reason I don't contribute to them, there are plenty of shelters that can help them and they choose to stand on the corner. It has been proven that they make more money than us doing this behavior. So no, I don't contribute.
