Universal Health Care for US citizens?

There is a lot of discussion going on about universal health care again. It does sound great, health care for everyone. But what does it really mean and how will it be paid and by whom? Some of the past plans were estimated to cost in the trillions of dollars over 10 to 15 years. In 10 years or less, a large segment of the population will be retiring...they're called the baby boomers. What's more they will no longer contribute to wage taxes but will contribute to a rise in health care costs. By the year 2030, its estimated that 20% of the population will be the senior citizens. It looks like the younger working class will have to bear the brunt of the costs. What do you think about universal health care?

wow this could open a can of worms lol myself i would think it great to have health care everyone could afford but my husband seems to think if it went to universal health care we would not be getting the same quality of care that we could get now because everyone would be getting *basic* care and waiting months and months for appointments and all that ..i would have to research more into other places that have this in place or talk to them to see how things really are before i decide myself exactly how i feel..but first off i think they should start off taking care of those who DONT have any sort of health coverage and those who have to chose between medicines and food each mth then decide the bigger picture instead of going for the whole cow ...you know what i mean? they seem to always want to dive head first into something without *thinking* of average or lower class americans (which i am one of) and when it takes a persons who income check to pay for health coverage for a husband and wife ...whew..
