believing something can't be called superstition, it is faith, believing something blindly inspite it is been disproved is what superstition means. i dont care if cat crosses my path. but i do care to pray rising sun for prosperity of all.whether it is granted or not.i am from india.and there were many examples of superstitious people doing rituals to please god,but now only rituals have remained not the superstition. they are performed most of the time because they are inherited and it is like paying homage to ancestors. but no blind beliefs now.

I persoally am more puzzled over the fact that people actually do have superstitions. I really don't understand such a thing. Drives me nuts when someone well go back up the stairs just because when they were coming down I was going up. Did you ever here of that one? Or your leaving to go shopping; your in your car, a block down the road you see a black cat walk across the street in front of your car. So you turn the car around, go back home and make everyone in the car go back into the house sit down a minute then leave again. How ridiculous is that?

I am not really superstitious. I don't believe in some supertitions that elders tell me. I am from the Philippines where the culture is rich with supertitious beliefs. I usually deviate from these beliefs and think otherwise.
