i agree that overpopulation is a serious issue but i don't think forbidding people to have children will solve it. i think, the key here is to educate people about responsible family planning.
just my two cents.

Frankly, I don't think it's right. Over population is a serious problem, but I think it's better to offer a free will for people to have two children. If the society protection is well, I think it'll release people's worries. Just due to it's not well, so people hope to have two children. I think two children are perfect. I hope this rule can be changed soon. I understand your feelings.

I had 2 girls when I was married to my first husband and I never dreamed that I would ever want anymore children. But I was also not in a good marriage and I think that had alot to do with it. When I remarried my husband had 2 children the same age as my two so we doubled to 4. That was an experiece and it was fun having a big family. When we got married we talked about having a child together and it took us 5 years to have our daughter. After 5 yrs I never thought I would have more than 1 child with my husband and I was content. A year later I discovered I was pregnant again. I was shocked but also very blessed to have my son. So now I have 3 girls and a boy - 22, 18, 5 and 3 and a stepson 22 and a stepdaughter 18. And I am done - I made sure of that when I had my last baby delivered c-section.

Every parent wants to have two kids...a boy and a girl.Which is really perfect but more than that would cause problems in todays life like population problem for the country and financial problem for the parents.
I am not married till now but this is my point of view. Here in our place the poor peoples families are so long, they are having 6-7 children or even more than that which indirectly affects the countries development and creates problems.
These people even now think that its good to have more and more children who will help them earn in childhood onwards.

I don't have any children and I don't think I will have one because it's a too great of a responsibility which I am not sure of. I love other people's kids and I love playing with them but I just can't really imagine having my own. I admire people who have children.

Even before my husband and I finally decided to get married, we have already planned to have two offsprings in the future; ideally one girl and one boy. We've been married for more than five years now and God has given us a loving daughter who is turning three next month.
Honestly and without being a hypocrite, we don't take any contraceptive pills or any family planning method to control pregnancy and childbirth. I guess it's God's way of helping us to plan our own family and control our expenses, too. After all, we're not in a hurry to have another baby until next year.
I have to admit that at present, we are still in the process of paying off all our existing monetary obligations with credit card companies, pawnshops, and other government and loan agencies. Personally, I really would like our daughter to know in the future that we took time to enjoy her childhood by having her alone for several years before having her younger sibling. I hope she'll learn to appreciate this, as I myself wasn't able to have this opportunity in my own life. I'm the eldest of four siblings and the gap between me and the sibling next to me is just eleven months.
In addition, my husband and I would have more time earning and saving up for our children's education.

I have two kids. I never thought I could handle two of them at once! But now it is not bad at all, the older one helps and plays with the younger one (who holy smokes will be 1 year old in a couple of weeks!!)
I don't regret either one of my kids, though I'm not real sure if I'd be in any hurry to have more at this point in my life!

I only have one child as of the moment. He is 5 years old under the 7 years of marriage. I do beleive that 2 would be a great number for children. Most especially if it would be a boy and a girl. Well, maybe perhaps we will add one more in the future if God permits.

I also have only one child. And like you, I would like to have 1 or 2 more... but not in the near future. I want to make sure that before I have more kids, we (my hubby and I) are capable of giving them a good/comfortable life.

I have only two kids, both boys age 19 and 15, and for me that is enough. Too many children in a home is so hard for couples who earn just meager income. The increasing prices of commodities and the cost to send kids to finish schooling is expensive these days, compared to many years ago.
On the other hand one child is not also good. The only child will tend to look for playmates outside and tend to be spoiled by the parents. So, for me, although I dont have a girl, I think my two boys are enough for my husband and me to give them a decent living.
