Full Time Student + Full Time Job = No Time For Fun

Is it just me, or am I the only person working through college? I've noticed that many people are saying that college is so stress free and fun, all they do is party. Well, that's definitely not the case with me. I'm constantly working or in class or studying. I have to pay my way through college and it's not easy. The time I do have is spent relaxing with my sister, because all I want to do after all that work is relax, not party.
Maybe I'm getting old too quickly, but isn't anyone out there working their way through school like me?

I'm thinking that most people are lying about having such a great time at college or they spend to much time partying to keep up good grades. Many of them probably have the tuition paid for by their parents and don't have to worry about working. I found my first year of college to be stressful and not nearly as fun as people told me it would be.

I am working full time during the day and then I go to school full time at night. I currently have the summer off but last semester I took four classes and I worked from 6:00 - 2:30 everyday and then went from classes till 8:00 at night. I passed all my classes and I didn't let any of my work slip. I work in the accounting department so I have to be sharp in order to work with all the company's money. Next semester I'm taking five classes, one being an on-line course and I still plan on working full time. I am a hard core student and employee during the week days but when Friday night comes along, I am just a regular 22 year old. I go out with my friends till at least 1:00 in the morning, I go to the movies, I go dancing, etc. I have a great time on the weekends but on Monday morning I'm back to routine. So yes, you can have it both ways and you can have loads of fun. You just have to budget your time appropriately and not over do it! Good luck!

I was the same way in college... always at work or school. If I wasn't at school, I was at work, and vice versa. College is supposed to be stress-frer, but what I remember is that it wasn't as much all fun and games as I was led to believe. Damn movies and their wild college parties. I was going to school and working two jobs: Starbucks in the morning, and Best Buy at night, with school in-between. And a weekend? Forget about it. It wasn't even happening. Don't worry, you aren't in that boat alone; for every person you see coasting through, someone is behind the scenes working as hard as you and chugging along, putting in the hours.
Good luck with it all!

I am in a college which is out to kill the students . Probably because its an engineering college. We are overburdened with college work and can't get enough sleep as it is. I dread to think of what would happen to us if we started working.

College life is not so easy as perceived by so many young people. If you party now you will end up struggling throughout your life, and if you struggle now you will relax throughout your life with a handsome income. Of course combining work with studies is very difficult as you have to satisfy both your boss and your professors. Although I don't work I know what it takes to handle both the aspects. All the best....
