Hello guys! I have been a teacher for almost eight years now and I must admit that disciplining students is one of the things that am still mastering up to this point in time. I am just wondering if you could share some of your techniques on how to handle students, especially the ones that really gives the teacher the biggest problem in school. Teaching is my passion in life and I would like to be the best teacher for my students. Thanks a lot!

I think try to be friendly. Just speak like them and then show them some ambitions of good career then tell them that for these things they need to be disciplined and listen to teachers carefully. If they will labour now they will be benefited in future if they will enjoy now they will struggle in future.

1.Find your students'interests, then talk about a bit in your class to adjust the atmosphere.
2.Do not lecture abstractly, you can add some interesting part in your class.
3.Stare at these non-disciplining students for a while.
4.Ask them questions. If they can't answer your questions, just stand there for a while. If they can, praise them.
5.You can introduce some stories about famous people in your class to encourage them.
6.To have a long talk with them about the importance of study and respecting others after class.

I am a teacher for the last 27 years, and did face antics from kids, but to make them listen to you and obey you,you must first love them.Being strict does not mean that you be a tyrant or a dictator, you got to give them your ears at times and at the same time make them follow what you say.Your class room teachings should be interesting you should also try to modulate your voice and try not to make it sound monotonous or boring. You can deviate slightly from the topic you are discussing and then bring them back to the topic. At times you ought to see the world by stepping into their shoes-do not forget that you too were a student once !BEST OF LUCK !

As a teacher i think the most effective way of disciplining students i think is their own awareness in this regard. The most effective way i think is counselling and motivation. If they are aware about there development and have a sense of do something in life nodoubt they will be disciplined and indeed good students.Reward and punishments are the things of past.So i think they made be aware about discipline and they also make to understand the importance of discipline in life.I hope that you are best teacher for your students so you have started this discussion.
