Sure, I've saved money for the future. It's hard to say what will happen tomorrow. Having more money is a good idea. If I am short of money, I think I will feel insecurity.

having money saved in the bank is always good for us. as you've said, it's for the future and we'll never know what will happen financially to us. it's always better to have fall back options.

I always try to save money. We just came out of a situation where we just had one income for 26 months. My previous savings was what saved us through this extremely hard period

I very much want to save money for my future, for my children, but unfortunately, here in this country it is impossible to save any money. I have loan on my head, I have to pay heavy taxes and bills. I India I was not even working still we could save some money, Here me and my hubby both are working like donkeys still we cannot save anything. And to add to it , since this country gives overdraft facility, we are already in big minus.......If only I will get lottary, then may be I will be able to save something...but I don't see any chance of lottary.........lol

i do the same as you. As soon as possible I put a bit of money aside so to have a sum to count on in case I need or for future projects. I am very proud of my ability in saving a bit each month and I thank my parents you taught me the importance of saving and giving money its value. I mean, they taught us we must always think about the work that is behind the money we have, and we must respect it and therefore being careful when spending money..even though you have money, you are not supposed to spoil it because there are people that have nothing to live on and because your parents or you or many others worked hard to raise this money..this was what I was taught

lol. I just responded to one discussion whether I keep budgets. I spend within my limits and so whatever is left of my earnings automatically becomes my savings for the future. How much savings can one have for the future in such a manner, I really wonder. BUT, I just do have extra money to save.

Yeah i save certain sum of money for the future as it is wise thing to do. Because one might need money to buy a property, vehicle, and so on. Or need in case of emergencies be it loss of job or for surgery... Besides like you said to invest for future though i prefer to be on the safe side of investments.

I'm a low income earner and I like to have money in the bank so I save what I can. Recently I had my car repaired and it cost 2 years of my car maitenance budget, as well as 2 new tyres I needed a few months ago. How fortunate I had the money sitting in the bank. I have to start all over but at least I don't have the worry of a debt hanging over my head. I will just tighten my belt for a little while and use my money cautiously till I get back to where I was.

I think you are very wise in saving for the future. I always used to spend my money and when my husband left me with our 2 sons it made me realise how important savings are. If I had saved from being young then it would have been much easier for me and my sons. We managed but I got into a lot of debt from credit cards and loans, I have sorted this out now but had I saved I would not have had any problem.

If I made enough money that I could save I would, but I don't have a chance in that respect.

Obviously I do and I think everyone should try to save money fro future as the value of money is decreasing day by day. So better keep some for future than spend all in today's luxuries.

I have a Roth IRA as well as an employer sponsored 401(k). I've been putting money away in that pre-tax since I graduated from college over 10 years ago. I try to contribute to the IRA when i can. All of our invenstment accounts are doing fairly well, so we should be well off when we do plan to retire. I am NOT expecting Social Security to provide a single penny to me, even though a chunk of my paycheck each month is given to SS. I don't believe those funds are managed very properly, people are living a lot longer than expected, and the funds can't support the baby boom generation that is retiring right now. So i expect that money to be gone before I ever get any of it when its due for me, so I am focusing on my own investments.

Everyone should save as much as they can for emergencies and retirement. When you're young, you never think you're going to get old or sick. Both of those things can creep up on you before you know it.

This is a question that can be answered depending on one's monthly income. Personally, i do save extra for the future. The sad part is that most of the people who are working are just earning good enough for their monthly expenses, worts, is that expenses sometimes may even too much compared to what they are reeceiving. I wonder if they could still save for a rainy day.
