I need help in taking a backup of the database and tables in oracle 10g.....i want to format my system....i want to take a back up of database and then format c:\ then reinstall windows then oracle 10g and then restore the backedup file please help....

The oracle backup and restore utility tool should help. If you have oracle installed then the tool should be available. I guess you have an external source to take the backup like a DVD burner or hardisk some media. Ashutosh

ACtually My problem is taking backup using SQL statements...i have to take backup of the database from a vb application...
