What to do at the time of earthquake?

In 2002 I have faced a severe earth quake killing thousands in Gujarat. When our homes shook and furniture rattled Friday morning, we ran around, confused and shocked, till it was all quiet again. Experts say if you can't make it to an open space during an earthquake, don't panic and run around, getting in the way of others and causing a stampede. you should rather hide under sturdy furniture till you can move to a safer place, that is, an area uncluttered by buildings, trees, electricity poles and wires.

Hello, neelampatel007.
I've never experienced any earthquakes. At that time, I think the most important thing is to calm down and not panic and running around.
Thank you for your advice. It'll be helpful for others, especially those like me who haven't met it before.
Wish you happy every day! :)
