How to exercise even though you don't have time

We are all so busy and at the same time we all know that we have to exercise a little bit everyday to keep healthy. But very often we don't because "we don't have time". But isn't it possible to combine the two? Do you have some good ideas for execising when you actually don't have time? Like running from your office desk to the copy machine. Or taking the stairs in stead of the elevator.

At work IF you have the option to take stairs instead of the elevator that is a great way. At home something you can do is while doing dishes you can do knee bends and instead of putting your laundry on the dryer put up a laundry line and take your clothes outside to the line and hang them up it will force you to lift the basket and carry it outside then if you continue the knee bends to pick up the laundry and hang it on the line that will help too. Plus if you have kids if you are already outsied hanging laundry then you go chasing your kids and playing inthe yard and that is another way to get exercise and yet have fun.

Great idea! I like the thought of standing at the sink doing knee bends. Of course it will look pretty stupid but then again: it's exercise.

I feel if one is short of time then one can do some basic stretches for 5 mintues to loosen back, legs, arms. Then one should try and walk as and when possible for as much as possible. Then one should climb stairs instead of taking lift that will also keep you fit. Then doing domestic chores like moving heavy objects like your bed, almirah when cleaning. Or bend down while sweeping the floor. Then try to stand instead of sitting all the time, be more physically active it helps. Then washing clothes is good exercise too.

A bunch of good advice. But how do you get people to think this way? I very often think about taking the stairs in stead of the lift but then I look at my watch and think: Oh boy better hurry - and then it's the elevator again.

well you could do some 1 minute exercises during the day as youre doing things like arm swings and swinging arms side to side and do some knees up when youve got a few minutes or wrist exercises also maybe walking to the shops or doing jumping jacks and jogging on the spot for 5 minutes. if you have stairs you could run up and down the stairs and do a quick step workout by stepping up one step with 1 foot then then other and stepping down again 10 times anything to get your energies flowing through the day and give you a bit of exercise
