That was nice of you to take the time to contact mylot. I was shocked to see all the yellow stars this morning. After reading so many discussion that were started about the subject I figured it had to be a glitch. There is no way so many people would have been decreased this far. Thanks!!

This mess started 3 weeks ago with the Best Responses disappearing which caused star ratings to drop everytime a BR was removed. I notified them of this 3 weeks ago and asked if it was a glitch and they didn't reply because I am just a mere messenger and not a lord, :( Thank you Lordwarwizard for demanding an answer! lol

Glad you heard from them already. I'm also glad to hear it's just a glitch and I haven't really lost my blue star. I've worked hard to get a good reputation on Mylot. By the way, no hair tearing here? My hair looks great?! LOL Have a great day Wizzy! :)

I have noticed all the emails today about our ratings going down and figured there had to be a glitch somewhere. I was surprised to see mine go down to 8 and was surprised to see all the other good members have theirs reduced as well. I definitely appreciate your sharing this with everyone so we know what is going on. It looks like the problem has been fixed as my rating is back to 10.

I'm glad you posted this. I haven't been on in a couple of days and was a little surprised (putting it mildly) to see that I had dropped from a 10 to an 8...lets hope Mylot can get this sorted out quickly.

The link to the discussion you posted has already been deleted. Anyway, what's important now is that they have restored our rightful stars and let's hope the problem has been fixed forever. One thing that this glitch made me realize is that, in connection with those who have been complaining that their discussions have been plagiarized by others is this: that indeed, one topic can engender a lot of point of views and that even as similarities may exists, some one's take on the topic itself is based on his/her own perspective and perhaps even cultural background. Like the posts from different mylotters yesterday. I think about 10 or 20 or even more posted discussions about the same topic, being deducted points or star ratings, but nobody complained and said that hey, that's my topic! Well, this is only my reflections on the effect of yesterday's events.

i am very new to MyLot and am wondering what is so special with having a star. MyLot is not exactly the easiest site to navigate through, so i may have missed the FAQs.

I missed out on noticing...lol I logged on this afternoon and saw all kinds of discussions complaining about it but ..I think it had already been fixed by then. But how kind of you to keep us all informed...hehe So I'm slow, what of it...lol

Huh. The discussion you posted it to is gone. Dont know why. But glad to see they fixed the problem. I was a 10 when I last came, 8 last night and back to 10 today. So thankfully much better I worked hard for my 10 and worried I'd done wrong even though I wasnt here.

Thanks for posting that. To be honest, I don't think I care about my star rating anymore. I used to care (as you can see from the few discussion I did when my star rating was very low). However, now I don't care because it seems that people just give negatives for the silliest things. Perhaps I should respond to your discussions more often because I know which one you give me :). well it looks like you got notice to them pretty quick and they were right on top of it, because I had not even noticed any decline in rating or star values. must have been during my "down time"

I replied to the other discussion and it got deleted so this one will likely follow it and vanish soon too. :(
